About Us

Lions International: For over 100 years, Lions have served with uncommon kindness, putting the needs of our neighbors, our communities and our world first. Through the incredible work of our Lion and Leo members, and the support of our association and our global foundation, we are serving a world in need together. The Association of Lions Clubs was established in 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones, a Chicago business leader and a Freemason. The Association went international in 1920 when Border Cities Lions Clubs in Windsor, Canada, was established. The name of Lions Clubs International has been used since then. It subsequently evolved as an international service organization under the guidance and supervision of its secretary, Melvin Jones. In 1917, Jones was a 38-year-old Chicago business leader who told members of his local business club they should reach beyond business issues and address the betterment of their communities and the world. Jones' group, the Business Circle of Chicago, agreed. After contacting similar groups around the United States, an organizational meeting was held on June 7, 1917 in Chicago.
District 317F: Smile has a magical power to touch the hearts, dissolve differences and win friends. Smile is the language of understanding and kindness. The district logo is designed with a center line Serve with Smile representing the insight of sincerity, confidence and trust with which we need to serve our community.
Our Club: The Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions (LCDRLJI), a part of Lions International was started in the year 2021 with Lion Srinivas M R a person of par excellence as its Charter President in the name of a great visionary Sri R L Jalappa Ji with a sole motto to serve the needy. Being his younger son Lion Sri J Rajendra, Vice - Chairman, Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust, Kolar being Chief Promoter of the Club. Now the Club comprises a team of 100 Lions headed by Lion Rakesh J R a young, distinguished and dynamic President. We work on different issues focusing on health, environment, education, youth empowerment and so on. We stand as Best Club of the Lions International, District 317F successively from the last 3 Lionistic years i.e since inception of the Club. Our Club is registered as specialty Club for Diabetes.
Mission: Together we can improve and sustain the lives by caring the communities around us.
Vision: To cater the contemporary civic and humanitarian needs promoting welfare of the community.
Our Outreach: Our services are in line with International motto is We Serve, which means selfless service to others in need in our local communities. The word We is inclusive, which includes transparency relative to gender, religion, ethnicity, politics or nationality. The areas of our concern include diabetes awareness, vision, hunger, youth, health, education, environment and childhood cancer.
Our Achievements: We have successfully completed three Lionistic years rendering our services in the needy areas. We think globally but act locally in terms of quality and concern of our services. The Club has been recognized as Best Club successively for 3 Lionistic years. Apart from being the Best Club we received numerous awards and recognitions from the District, Multiple and International for the various attainments. It is a matter of pride to share that our Club has created the World Record in the implementation of Lions Quest program.

Diabetic RBS Checkup Camp: On Saturday the 29th of March -2025, Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure Checkup Camp was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions at our Vision Centre, besides Reliance Trends, Doddaballapura from 10:30 am. 120 People were benefited from the Camp. Program Cost Rs.5,000/-. Lions participated 3, Lion hours 9.

DISTRIBUTION OF GROCERIES: On Friday the 24th of January-2025, Groceries were distributed at Old Age Home by Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions at Old Age Home, Tubagere. This program was witnessed by Lion C M Narayanaswamy : No. of beneficiaries - 60. Cost of the Program Rs.25,000/-,Lions participated 15, Lion hours 5.

TREE PLANTING : On Friday the 24th of January-2025. Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions organized a sapling plantation drive at, our new IOL centre near Reliance Trends, Doddaballapur : No. of saplings - 20. Cost of the Program Rs.2,000/-,Lions participated 15, Lion hours 1.

DONATION OF CATTLE FEED AND FODDER: On Friday the 24th of January-2025, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions organized veterinary camp at Melekote , it was organized to help our farmers to maintain hygiene of their cattle especially cows, I thank the veterinary doctors of Doddaballapur for being part of this program..We distributed free medicines and mineral mixtures to farmers. I thank our District Governor Lion C M Narayanaswamy for being part of this wonderful event. Cost of the Program Rs.20,000/-, Lions participated 15, Lion hours 15.

OBSERVATION ON SANKRANTHI FESTIVAL : On Tuesday the 14th of January-2025, organized a wonderful event to celebrate the auspicious Sankranthi festival. Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions distributed warm caps to the residents of the Old Age Home in Tubagere, aiming to provide them with some comfort during the winter season. This kind gesture showcases the club's commitment to giving back to the community and spreading joy among those in need benefiting 40 people. Program Cost Rs.4000/-. Lions participated 4, Lion hours 8.

VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP: On Saturday the 14th of December-2024 a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions in association with Unit of Bangalore Lions Service Trust (BLST) at Sri RL Jalappa Institute, Kodigehalli, Doddaballapur from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm. Lion M B Deepak Suman, pmjf, Past District Governor and Lion Chinnappa Thomas, pmjf, District Co-ordinator Blood Donations were the Chief Guests. 100 units of Blood is collected also fruit juice and fruits were distributed to the donors who participated in the camp. Program Cost Rs.5,000/-, Lions participated 12, Lion hours 60.

IOL CAMP : On Monday the 2nd of December-2024, IOL Camp was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions in association with RL Jalappa Hospital and Research Center, Tamaka, Kolar in our Vision Center from 11:30 am. 16 people were sent for Eye Operation. Camp Cost Rs.16,000/-. Lions participated 3, Lion hours 3.

PEACE POSTER CONTEST : On Friday, the 29th of November-2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R.L. Jalappa Institutions participated in the District Peace Poster contest organized by the lions International at U A S Alumini Hall, Hebbala, Bangalore, from 10:30 am. 05 students participated in the contest and One student secured the prestigious Constellation Prize. We are thrilled to see our students showcase their creativity and talent in promoting peace and harmony. Program cost Rs.3000/-.Lions participated 02, Lion hours 8.

CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAM :- On Saturday the 23rd of November-2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions organized a Childhood Cancer Care Awareness program at Government First Grade College, Madagondanahalli, Doddaballapura. from 11:30 am. Lion Shobha Srinivas , mjf , Dist. Co-ordinator Childhood - Cancer was the Chief Guest. Approximately 300 kids were educated about cancer. Program Cost Rs.5,000/-. Lions participated 3, Lion hours 6.

RELIEVING HUNGER PROGRAM: On Wednesday the 13th of November-2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions Participated in the District Hunger Relieving Program at K C GENERAL HOSPITAL, from 12:30 pm. 115 Patient Attendants and Staff were served. Lion Arundathi B S and Family being the sponsor of the Program. Program Cost Rs.3,500/-. Lions participated 4, Lion hours 16.

TRAFFIC AWARENESS AND HELMET DISTRIBUTION :- On saturday, the 9th of November -2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions in association with Lions Club Of Doddaballapura Aryabhatta, hosted a successful Helmet Distribution and Traffic Awareness Program at Sri Devaraj Urs International Residential School in Doddaballapura at 10:30 am, featured D.S. Narasimhamurthy, pmjf , District Coordinator for Traffic Awareness, who delivered an insightful presentation on the primary causes of road accidents, including disobeying traffic rules, mobile phone usage, and inadequate safety equipment. The sponsor of the program being K P Rajkumar, Revenue inspector, K R Puram. The number of beneficiaries received helmet are 168. Program cost Rs.75,000/-.Lions participated 8, Lion hours 16.

HONOURING OF KANNADA SUBJECT TEACHERS: On Friday the 1st of November - 2024, Kannada subject teachers were honored by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions at Assembly Hall, Sri Devaraj Urs International Residential School, R L Jalappa Campus, Doddaballapura from 02:30 pm. This event being a part of "69th Kannada Rajyotsava" Celebration, 16 Kannada subject teachers of R.L. Jalappa Group of Educational Institutions were honored. During the event sweets were distributed to the attendees. Program Cost Rs.24,000/-. Lions participated 20, Lion hours 40.

DENTAL SCREENING : On Tuesday the 15th of October - 2024 Dental Screening was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions in association with VJR Dental Clinic, Doddaballapur at our Vision Screening, Diabetes (RBS) and Dental Check-up Centre from 10:30 am. 78 People were screened and are benefited from the Camp. Program Cost Rs.3,000/. Lions participated 3, Lion hours 9.

EYE SCREENING: On Saturday the 5th of October-2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura R.L. Jalappa Institutions organized an eye screening camp at Our Vision Centre, opposite R.L. Jalappa College, Kurubarahalli, Doddaballapura at 10:30 am. The camp was conducted by doctors from Kolar. 63 People were screened and 2 peoples have been referred to Eye Operation. 08 people were given spectacles. 63 people benefited from the Camp. Program Cost Rs.3,000/-. Lions participated 2, Lion hours 10.

RELIEVING HUNGER PROGRAM: On Wednesday the 2nd of October - 2024, Relieving Hunger Program was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions, at the Government Boy’s Hostel, Hanabe from 01:00 pm to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, lunch was served to 84 students of the hostel. Program Cost Rs.3000/-. Lions participated 3, Lion hours 6.

VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP: On Tuesday the 10th of September-2024, Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in association with JCI Organization, Adya Hospital Railway Station Doddaballapura, Lions Club Blood Collection Centre, Yelahanka, at Manvanthara Convention Hall, Chapparakallu from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm. 27 units of Blood is collected also fruit juice and fruits were distributed to the donors who participated in the camp. Program Cost Rs.10,000/-, Lions participated 4, Lion hours 8.

OBSERVATION OF TEACHERS DAY : On Thursday the 5th of September -2024, Teachers Day was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions at Sri Devaraj Urs International Residential School, RL Jalappa Campus, Doddaballapur from 11:30 am . 60 Teachers were felicitated on the occasion. Program Cost Rs.12000/. Lions participated 6, Lion hours 6.

TWINNING FREE MEDICAL HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP : On Sunday the 1st of September-2024 Twinning Free Medical Health Checkup Camp was organized Jointly by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions, Lions Club of Chintamani in association with R L Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, R L Jalappa Narayana Heart Centre and Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Tamaka, Kolar at Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Kalyana Mantapa, Doddabelawangala, Doddaballapur Taluk from 7:30 am. In the Camp 469 people were checked for FBS and PPBS in the presence of Lion Pradeep Kumar L N, pmjf, District Chairperson Diabetes-Rural, District 317F, 216 people were distributed medicines. 469 people were benefited from the camp. Camp Cost Rs.56,000/-. Lions participated 20 , Lion hours 40.

QUEST IMPLEMENTATION :- On Friday, the 23rd of August-2024, Quest Implementation Program was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions at Sri Devaraj Urs International School, R L J Campus, from 11:30 am. Lion G K Usha Kumari, pmjf, Mentor District Quest Program was the Chief Guest. Lion Gracy Rebello, pmjf, District Chairperson Quest Team Member, Lion .M.R. Srinivas, pmjf, GET Coordinator, Lion L N Pradeep Kumar, PMJF, DC for Diabetes(Rural) was the guests of honor. In this implementation program 120 students were benefited and informed about the quest and quest books were distributed. Program cost is Rs.1000/- Lions participated 5 and Lion hours 5.

DISTRIBUTION OF PULL OVER COAT:- On Wednesday, the 21st of August-2024, on occasion of birthday an event was organized by the Lions Club of Doddaballapura R.L. Jalappa Institutions to honor the main promoter of our club, J. Rajendra Sir. The event commenced at 2:30 pm by distributing Pull over coats for 85 students in the Boys' Hostel Government School , Hanabe. Program cost is Rs.30,000/- Lions participated 6 and Lion hours 18.

DISTRIBUTION OF BOOKS AND NUTRITION SUPPLEMENT: On Thursday the 15th of August 2024. On occasion of Independence day Distribution of Books and Nutrition Supplement program was organized by Lions Club of Doddaballapura R L Jalappa Institutions at Government Higher Primary School, Khaasbag. From 12.00 pm. The number of students benefited by this program are 116. Program Cost is Rs.3,000/-. Lions participated 7 and Lion hours 7.

QUEST TEACHERS TRAINING WORKSHOP: On 19th and 20th of July-2024 Quest Teachers Training Workshop was organised at E & C Seminar Hall, RLJIT Campus from 8:30 am. Lion C M Narayan Swamy, pmjf, District Governor, District 317F, Lion B S Rajashekaraiah, pmjf, IPMCC, Lion Dr. S Nagaraj Rao, pmjf, PMCC and Multiple Council Quest Chairperson, Lion CK Krishnamurthy, pmjf, PMCC and Mentor-Lions Quest, Lion G K Usha Kumari pmjf, District Mentor for Quest, Lion Kalpana Mohan, Lions Quest Trainer, Lion Dr.Malathi V Gopal mjf, Addl. Co-ordinator for Lions Quest Program, Lion Gracy Rebello, pmjf, District Chairperson for Lions Quest and Lion M.R. Srinivas, pmjf, GET Co-ordinator & Club Quest Chairperson participated in the Program. Lion Kalpana Mohan, Quest Trainer conducted the Teachers Training Workshop. It was presided by Lion Priya Ajith, pmjf, District Coordinator for Quest. All the 34 Teachers who participated in the TTW were sponsored by Lions Club of Doddaballapura RL Jalappa Institutions. Teachers Training Workshop Cost Rs.73,000/-. Lions participated 15, Lion hours 150.

FREE MEDICAL HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP: On Saturday the 6th of July-2024 Free Medical Health Checkup Camp was organized jointly by Lions Club of Doddaballapur R L Jalappa Institutions and R L Jalappa Medical College and Research Center, Tamaka, Kolar from 7:30 Am. In the Camp 71 people were checked for FBS and PPBS. Lion Shivakumar R, District Chairperson Health-Rural, District 317F gave an awareness lecture on Health.
